Fles thuis geprobeerd. Het is een troebel oranje tot goudgeel bier met een medium schuimkraag. Het heeft een zoetige wat alcohol achtige geur. De smaak is moutig, zoet en houtig met een alcohol achtige smaak er in.

Bottle shared with Joes. Hazy golden color, medium sized white head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is indeed like I would expect from a blond beer aged in calvados barrels: sweetish and a bit alcoholic. Taste malts, sweet, sweet malts, oak, cognac-like barrel aging. Decent to medium body and carbonation. Not bad at all.

29/IV/16 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ Arno's place - BBE: 2018 (2016-448)

Clear orange beer, big creamy irregular off-white head, pretty stable, adhesive. Aroma: sweet, alcohol, yeast, some banana, bit spicy, coriander touch? MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit sweet, lots of banana, very fruity, alcohol noticeable, some tannins, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: bit spicy, coriander touch, warming alcohol, bitter, some banana still.

5th Feb 2016: last beer of the night. 4th International Beer Swap in De Bierboom, Brugge. A pleasant nightcap to compliment an excellent evening of drinking, eating and chatting to like minded people. My notes are difficult to follow, the 29 different beers preceding this one having taken effect somewhat. Mini-haze to the light amber pour, the head a white wispy thing. Slight barrel age hint in both the nose and taste but the alcohol pushes through the mild apple and malt tasting brew. OK, but my taste buds and nasal scenes are shot really, as were my writing on this beer.

Bottle. Pours clear blonde, small white head. Smell is weak, some of the barrels, but not intense by far. Taste is sharp, grainy, booze ( not much alcohol warmth or heavyness, but just that typical alcoholic taste ) some honey undertone. Sharp sugar-crispyness. Not too good, but not awefull. medium body and carbo

Bottle shared. Pours very hazy blond brown with a ring tan head. Aroma of rubber overwhelming upfront, with calvados coming out, light boozy, fruits, light oak and sweet malt. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bouteille 33cl, BB12/2018.
