Sampled from tap at ’Beertemple’. Clear, deep reddish amber with a white head. Sweetish, spicy aroma of caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon and licorice root. Sweetish-malty, spicy taste of caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon and licorice root, followed by a short, slightly bitter, spicy finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay.

On tap @ the brewpub during RateBeer weekend. Reddish orange appearance that is slightly hazy with a cream colored head. Orange zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, coriander, and candy in the nose. Slightly low carbonation. Very spicy with tons of nutmeg in the mouth. Cinnamon, some anise, and lots of orange in the flavor. Well balanced but not all that tasty.

Keg at the brewpub, 01/02/16. Chestnut brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is malty, spice, ginger, clove. Taste comprises brown bread, ginger bread men, fruit loaf, clove. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok for style but overly spiced in the execution.
