(Draugh at Mother Kelly's Vauxhall, London, 27 Nov 2022) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, grapefruit, lemon peel, pineapple and tropical fruit. Fruity, hoppy taste with lemon, grapefruit, pineapple, tropical fruit, pine needles and a generous citric/tropical bitterness. Medium body, dry. Really tasty, with a rich citric and tropical hop character. Very nice.

Bottle from the brewery online shop. At 5.3%. Pours just-clear yellow gold with a thick white head. Aromas of light tropical fruit and dried orange peel. Taste is more of the same. Faint malt sweetness. Light bitter finish.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines, Birmingham and shared in Bangkok. Poured a hazy golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, melon, stone fruits. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, fresh, light fruity, mineral, earthy, light dry floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo. It pours cloudy orange with a medium foamy white head. The aroma is soft, juicy, bright tangerine, satsuma, orange drizzle cake, pine, touch of gooseberry, bread and a hint of spice. The taste is firmly dry, nice level of bitterness, a bit green upfront, piney, grass, nips of spice, big zesty action, tangerine, pithy satsuma, kumquat, clean airy malts a just touch of marmalade sandwiches in the mix. Finish is dry and bitter. Medium body and fine, massaging carbonation. Classic kernel pale. Elegent, balanced and quaffable. Moreish.

Bottle from the brewery in Bermondsey and drunk at home. Gold colour lasting white head. Oh now that is more or less perfect. Great NS flavour and citrus citra flavour. Some citrus acidity. Just perfect for me. I would drink this every day. Lovely.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at the brewery. Pours lightly unclear gold with a fluffy, white head. Typical beautiful balance of a Kernel pale, with notes of pithy citrus, light pine and rind, tangerine. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Great balance in the finish, more citrus, light rindy bitterness, lightly dried pale malts. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Bottle. Wine Rack, Sharrow, Sheffield. Beautiful looking pale, yellow gold. Moderate haze. Super thick, lasting Kernel swede. Nose has unripe peach. White grape. Orange rind. Some mineral. Clean malts. Taste is clean, zesty, mineral bitterness. Modicum of sweetness. Medium body. Hint of twang and dryness. Foamy carbonation. Lingering, punchy bitterness to finish. I’d love to find this on tap and knock a quick half gallon back.
