Poured from a 22 oz bottle. Aroma is rich with quite a bit of dark chocolate and some lighter roast. Some light notes of dark fruit and raisin. Light caramel and toffee. Medium light bourbon notes and oak. Pours black with dark brown hues and a small, dark brown, mocha head that recedes to a very thin film that lingers for a bit. Light lacing and moderately long legs. Flavor has quite a bit of dark chocolate and milk chocolate with medium light roast. Hints of tobacco, caramel and toffee. Medium light dark fruit notes with a bit of raisin and berry. Moderate bitterness. Medium light bourbon with medium light oak. Mouthfeel is medium full to full bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, pretty tasty with quite a good amount of oak and bourbon. Lots of nice malt notes with some good fruit esters.

Bottle. 2013 Pappy. pours a pitch black color with a small white head. A big dark fruit nose with huge sweet bourbon. Lovely, rich soft bourbon, man this is clearly Pappy. Vanilla, dark fruit, tobacco, really not hot at all. This is so smooth. Velvet viscous palate.

Bottle @ Stephen’s whale slaying via BA trade. Pours a black appearance with a dark brown head. Deep chocolate, light coffee, some roast, whiskey, and light vanilla. Medium to full body. Full of dark chocolate, caramel, whiskey, and some sweet brown sugar flavor. Some booze. Nice beer. Not as good as EC18 and pretty average for the series.

Tasting at Jack’s RAH Annexe! Thanks to Bruce for this one. Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth with fine carbonation. Smooth bourbon but with a spicy edge. Mild vanilla. Trace of chocolate. The bourbon segues smoothly to mild fruits. Light dry finish. Nice.

Bottle at Chateau Jackl, big thanks to Bruce for this number, 13/08/14. Black with a moderate tan swirl come spotting. Nose is dark fruits, spice, rich chocolate, dark toffee fudge, sweet notes, vanilla essence, subtle BA tones. Taste comprises roasted notes, not as sweet as the aroma suggested, brown sugars, chocolate, subtle Pappy oaky twang. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet licks and lightly warming booze in a well tempered decadent BA close. Solid impy.
