Bouteille 33cl, BB 08/12/2017, merci Willy.

4th November 2017
Semi opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth and fairly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth and very mellow dark malts, modest dark chocolate and malt cream. Mellow spice. Just a trace of dark fruits before the smooth finish. Very mellow indeed but quite drinkable.

0,33l bottle at home. BB 08.12.2017. dark brown color, small tan head. smells milky, buttery, tobacco, ripe fruits, honey, molasses. okish smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes ashy, earthy, bit citric, some sweetness, chlorophyl, green herbal, peppery, grassy, some candy, molasses, tobacco. finishes lightly bitter with notes of tobacco, earthy and peppery notes. not a big fan, flavours are all over the place, not that great balance, maybe already a bit on the oldish side. overall still drinkable.

On keg at Six Degrees North, Edinburgh. Appearance - opaque black with a thin but attractive off white head. Nose - chocolate biscuits and light caramel. Taste - dark chocolate and caramel. Light burnt bread edge to it. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy yet crunchy texture. Lovely crunchy finish. Overall - great example of a porter. Not sure I spotted the grains of paradise mind.

4th Sep 2017: Shrewsbury Bottle Share in Chez Sophie. 330ml bottle: BBD 8th Dec 2017, cheers Simon for this offering. Dark body, beige head. Chocolate notes in the nose, also within the dark fruity flavour, mild warmth in the finish: different and interesting.

330ml bottle @ monthly share, Chez Sophie, Sep 17. Thanks to Simon! Pours dark hazy brown, small tan head. Aroma bears some choc, spice only really coming through on the palate. Fairly smooth and grainy for a baltic porter, softly sweet fruit with minimal roast coming through, light spicy tang on the finish, a touch peppery agreed. Drinks easy. Likin the summer porter vibe.

Bottle. Beer Ritz online. Dirty, dark brown. Messy, lasting, leggy, beige head. Nose has ripe dark fruit. Hint of liquorice. Hint of sweet smoke. Some grated orange peel. Bit of a chocolate orange thing going on. Taste sets off sweet, with a light, roast bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Massaging carbonation. Well rounded, overall. Winds up roasty, spicy bitter. Very nice. Typically bonkers.
