Hand-pulled pint in The Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire on 27th Nov 2014. Ruby hue to the brown body, creamy white head with impressive lacing as the beer level dropped. Semi-sweet molasses caress the nasal organ with caramel and toffee notes playing equally together within the aroma. The taste is also all about the sweetness within the malts, some woody and nutty hints help to balance out the maltiness somewhat. My sweet tooth loved this.

NERAX North cask festival. 11/16/2013 Haverhill, MA. Amber in color with light bubbly head. Nose is sugary maple syrup with light hints of toffee. Flavor is nothing like it smells or what I was expecting. Dirty caramel malts, dried leaves, leafy green hops that give a needed bitterness to balance the malt. Bitterness does not linger. Hints of old coffee beans. Dry in texture with a decent body. I enjoyed this.

Cask-conditioned at the South Wales Beeriodical, the Seven Stars, Bristol 5/11/2012. Reddish amber with a decent, off-white head. Aroma of berry fruits, caramel and a touch of leafy hop. Flavour was also sweet and fruity, with am moderately bitter finish. Good.

Pigs Ear. Light hazy dark brown beer. A little sour maple and malt on the nose. Nice fresh malt, a little sweet. The maple is well integrated. Light crisp finish with a little hop fruit and bitterness. Nice.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear BF 09. Chestnut colour, lasting off white head. Very fruity on aroma. Fruity on swallow but needs more malt in the body. Bit watery, but good fruit.
