This beer taught us that patience truly is a virtue. KBS is a big imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolate and then bourbon barrel-aged to perfection. Incredibly silky and full-bodied with notes of vanilla, cocoa, roasted coffee and charred oak.

bottle from RagallachMC, thanks!!!!
pours JET black, small brown/beige head. excellent lacing on the glass. man i love this bourbon aged stouts!
aroma is chocolate, coffee, and i’m just loving that vanilla! mouthfell is thick and smooth, like velvet. flavour is again, lots of chocolate, and the vanilla comes through bigtime, with a wicked coffee aftertaste, and some lovely bittering. Alcohol is slightly present in the aroma and flavour but not enough to detract from the beer overall. outstanding beer!

(Five variant KBS vertical) Poured from 355mL bottle (bottled 05.23.23 - 12%; thanks Derek & JF). Very dark brown with small beige head. Ashy roast malt, coffee backing, simple well made base beer.

Dark brown. Not much head on this pour. Lots of coffee on the nose, along with some dark sugars. On the palate, it comes across lighter than I was expecting, with mellow coffee accents.

Bottle from Hopt. At 11.9% abv. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, Bourbon, oak, some booze, liquorice, chocolate, touch of vanilla with a hint of smoke and ash. Flavour is medium sweet and fairly bitter with some alcohol hotness. Body is full. Quite nice, must have been a true smasher ten years ago, a rightful classic. Personally, I prefer the Founders Imperial and Breakfast Stouts, but this one is very tasty as well.

355ml bottle, bottled on 02.07.19
My last dusty bottle from the stash. Another that I'd say has held up well after almost 6 years. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, molasses, coffee. Taste has a lot sweet dark chocolate, coffee, molasses, some creamy vanilla and oak, warming bourbon finish. Smooth, medium-full bodied. Great.

A dusty bottle from the stash. After almost 7 years it's held up well. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, molasses, coffee. Taste follows suit with plenty of sweet dark chocolate, coffee, molasses, creamy vanilla, some oaky notes and a boozy bourbon warmth to finish. Smooth, medium-full bodied. Great.
