Ask at the Cygnet - London. Pours hay amber with a soft, creamy head. Bready malts in the with mild spicy pine and earth. Medium sweet flavor with grainy bread, some toased sugars, earth, dirty pine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and oily texture. Rough resinous hop finish with more grainy and bready malts. Some abrasive grassy bitterness in the aftertaste. Mediocre.

Cask in The Bacchus, Birmingham city centre on 30th Aug 2014. My hand-pulled pint had an amber body with a full white head that hung around. Hops rule the aroma and taste with mild citrus flavours beating off everything else. Bitter finish with a fruity centre in the mouth, not too bad at all and a good first pint of a long hard pub crawl around Brum.

Cask at the Chequers,Oxford, Saturday 12th April 2014 We had this shortly after meeting Sir Roger Bannister at Blackwells. Mid amber with white rim. A touch of butter (just slight) is the only negative to what is in fact a damn decent beer. Furry bitterness and a jolly good citrussy tang. Dry, really quite dry. Like it. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov13 3.5

Cask at the Falcon, CLJ, 11/04/14. Clear golden amber with a moderate off white swirl atop the glass that spreads to edgework. Nose is bitter orange, light spice, bread dough, red grapefruit, bitter hops. Taste comprises orange rind, light spice, dried aricot, earthy hop presence, bready tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a dark citric ring. So so, drinkable stuff but low down the pecking order for this style.
