This satisfyingly rich stout has been traditionally brewed with dark malts, roasted barley and oats to give a thick, smooth body and a rich chocolate flavour.

Bottle at home from the brewery. A lovely dark pour and a great nose of roasted dark malts. My first thought on the first sip was "liquorice" and the flavour had great length across the profile. It was very pleasant. The dark malts were very evident and there was, to me, a perfect balance to this beer. This was just a lovely pint of beer and it shows that a good stout is very hard to beat.

Thanks for the bottle, Meghan!
Poured into a mug, the appearance was a black color with foamy finger’s worth of white head. Sly messy lace.
The aroma had a super nice blend of roasted malt, chocolate and clean caramel with coffee beans and grounds rubbing at the end. Black licorice sweetness came out as it warmed.
The flavor blended extremely nice between the roast and the sweet flowing between dark and milk chocolate. Super nice aftertaste richly blending between the sweet and the roast. Same as in the finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation was a bit low, but I’m thinking that’s what the brewer intended. ABV felt appropriate, though it made me think twice as if this was \"porter\"-like in it’s smoothness.
Overall, stout or porter, hell if I know, just glad to have sampled a new one to me. Just damn good!

(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 27 Nov 2016) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, coffee and caramel. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, coffee, caramel, liquorice and a balanced cacao bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Really tasty and well made stout. Very nice.

Bottle shared at chriso’s. Pours rich amber-brown with a frothy, beige head. Pleasant roasted malts in the nose, big milk chocolate, dark berries. Medium sweet flavor with some smokey meat, nips of earth, dried and leathery fruits, berries. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Nicely balanced to finish, pleasant dark malts, dried out fruits. Quite sound for what it is.
