Aroma: Faint aroma of bread, apricot and earth.

Appearance: Clear golden body with a medium off-white head that slowly fades. No visible carbonation. Superb lacing.

Taste: Grain, cereal and earthy notes. Apricot, pale malt with a light peppery spice. Low bitterness.

Palate: Medium to full body with a sticky mouthfeel. Flat carbonation.

Overall: This is well balanced, but flavour wise it’s not particularly distinctive or exciting. I really want Fyne Ales to brew a new beer that has the ’wow’ factor of Hurricane Jack or Jarl.

(Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 26 Apr 2013) Pale amber colour with foamy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with apricots, crisp-bread and slightly floral hops. Malty, fruity taste with apricots, citrus, crisp-bread and a certain spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and quite nice.

Cask @ Golden Rule, Edinburgh [190413]
Amber, clear, frothy white head, ok lacing
Aroma of soft hop resin, mellow citrus, touch of orange, soft fruity quite sweet malt, slight mix of strawberry(?) and orange
Taste as aroma, very subtle cereal, to be honest I wouldn’t have picked out the rye but it has this nice slightly waxy smoothness, pretty mellow, nice soft pale fruits
Palate - Medium body, soft sweet palate. Smooth finish, maybe getting a hint of cereal here
Overall - Not one of the top Fyne Ales, but it is easy going, has a good drinakbility - mellow and pleasant. Would probably do well as an addition to their bottled supermarket range

Craft Clerkenwell. Light haze on this pale gold beer. Little white head. Fresh light palate with fine carbonation. Pale malt has a little lager like character. Touch of rye spice. Great hops - light juicy floral tangerine with lesser touches of orange and lemon. Semi dry finish. Fresh and very drinkable, a delight!

Cask at Fyne Ales. It pours golden with a bubbly white head. The nose is floral, leaf, wood, varnish, faint farmyard and light caramel. The taste is earth, hay, rye, spice, peppery, varnish, nice level of bitterness, leather and light caramel with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. A solid rye ale all-round.
