Nice nose, nicely crafted with a good clean tasting texture that feels good in the palate.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading] Light amber with a moderate off white head and a light, fluffy texture. Clean crisp bitterness with some pine and a little fruitiness decent session bitter, if a bit on the thin and watery side.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 5/04/2011. Amber with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of sweetish malts, with some berry fruit and touch of leafy hop. Flavour of cereal malts with a dryish finish. Ok.

From cask. Pours hazy dark orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is toasted malty and slight breadish. Toasted toffee malty, slight bitterness and mild fruity note coming through. Bitter and lingering medium dry malty finish.

Cask at Westgate JDW Canterbury. Clear mid brown virtually no head. From gravity stillage. Astringent bleachy hop aroma. Carries on in to mouth with astringent hop and sweet malts. Not hugely hoppy on finish. Not great in this form to be honest. Some hop on finish to be honest 535311/5.0 Re-rate reminds me of onion bhagies. Some ok hop

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Clear copper with a weak head. Caramel, toffee and toasted malts on the nose. Light to medium sweet, hints of caramel and toffee, bit of roast, dough, light herbal bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Actually some roastiness in the finish, slight mocha, bit of brown sugar and mild, earthy hops. Not bad.
