This light mild has been brewed exclusively for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. It is golden in colour, with just a hint of hops on the nose before a traditional malt flavour, with a subtle sweetness, develops into a moreish character, ensuring that we will have to be tugging away at the pump.

[Cask at Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading] Golden-amber with a moderate off-white head and a light sparkle. Light caramel balanced against a mild bitterness, a little straw, a hint of lemon and a touch of roasty malt. Light throughout in fact, but somehow still a charming little well-balanced refresher that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Rich gold pour with a creamy head. Malty nose, some caramel. Medium sweet flavor, bready, with toasted sugar, mild leaves, earth. Light in body with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with fairly sharp bread, hints of hops and fruity impressions. Nice beer.

Hamilton Hall Spoons. A hazy gold mild??!! April 1st or what? Nice creamy head. Light palate. Semi dry. Mild creamy malt and mild hop. Smooth and drinkable. Not bad at all, a very mild mild. And a golden one!

Cask-conditioned at the Berkeley (JDW), Bristol 29/03/2011. Golden coloured with a slight white head. Light, cereal malt aroma with a touch of fruit, Biscuit malt flavour with a lightly bitter finish. Good.

Cask handpull at JDW Victoria Rail Station. A rare example of a lught mild. Clear deepish gold with lasting cream coloured head. Yep it has some caramel and fidge flavour and very light hop presence on the finish. God malt throughout this I thought. Good aroma excellent mouthfeel. I really actively enjoyed this slightly sweet beer. Good light mild 3.7/5.0 re-rate at both Ashford and Folkestone Spoons. Still decent but perhaps my initial rate was too effusive
