From cask at Under The Water. Pours clear and deep orange with a small off-white and dense creamy head. Aroma is mild fruityand roasted malty. Dry grassy and hayish flavoured. Grainy and roasted dark breadish finish. Simple and dry grainy.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol 19/11/10. Amber coloured with a decent, off-white head. Sweet, caramel and orange fruit aroma. Flavour had some decent cereal malts overpowered somewhat by a toffee sweetness.

Cask at the Prince Alfred (JDW), Fleet. Amber with a dense cream head; orange aroma; thick body with heavy malts; flavours of orange and grapefruit with a sharply bitter finish. Very drinkable.

Cask @ Counting House. Copper colour, foamy off-white head. Aroma is malty, bit grassy. Flavour is malty, sour and grassy, some biscuit. Fairly dry finish. Medium bodied. Good drinkable.

Spoons Fest! Clear amber beer, ghostly head. Dry softish palate. Low carbonation. Bitterish orange hops. Trace amount of sulphur. Bitter finish. Hugely dissapointing (what bloody rye?) and a bit too much hard work.

copper brown .. thin tan head ...woody toffe nose ... dry bitter woody hop ... little toffee ... but ok and drinkable for all that

Cask at the Central Bar, JDW. Pours a hazy, amber-orange with a light film. Bready malt nose with faint, citrus hops. Lightly sweet flavor with decent citrus and earth bitterness but very one-dimensional. Light in body with soft carbonation. The finish is lightly dry, with some faint hops and sweet bread. Doesn’t come close to approximating an American amber but it isn’t bad.

Cask handpull at Society Rooms, JDW, Maidstone. Copper clear. Thick beige head. It’s a decent bitter. Bit of minerality on the finish. Yep it’s an ok minerally bitter. Fine.

Cask gravity at The Hop Pole, Easter Beer Festival, Aylesbury, Bucks in the company of Loz, Chris O and Ruth 10-04-09 Pours light to mid amber with a thin white head. Loz picked up a burtoness in the nose. Taste is lightly spicy as indicated in the commercial description. There is a furry bitterness to this beer in fact it;s slightly bitterer than I expected and actually n umbs the tongue slightly. It’s quite decent but I really don’t know category wise where this would slot. A7 A4 F7 P3 Ov12 3.3
