Finnish style, containing the traditional spice of fresh juniper berries. An enticing herbal aroma, with hints of pine, leads to a malty flavour, with the tanginess of the juniper balanced by a delicate bitterness and smooth, spicy finish.

Cask handpull at Knights Templar, JDW, Holborn. Copper brown colour with lasting beige head. Diacetyl on aroma. Followed by a slightly herbal beer. It’s pretty bad for me in flavour. Good condition and mouthfeeel. Fine, but not my thing.

Cask, handpump at The Penny Black, JDW, Bicester, 16.11.10 in the company of Loz, Nick & Anna on my birthday. Pours dark gold/light amber with some bubbling for a head. Little bit of spice and yeasty along with fruit on nose. In the mouth this is malty, with good bitterness and sweetness leading to a dry tangy finish. Fine. b] A6 A4 T6 P4 Ov12 3.2

Cask at The Central Bar JDW. Pours rich, clear copper with a creamy, off white head. Candy, syrup, cream and spice aroma. Interesting flavor. Lightly sweet with some kind of sweet bread, mild spices and just faint citrus and earth hops. Light bodied with creamy, soft carbonation. Finishes with some mild dryness and light candy sweetness. Not bad.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading] Amber-brown, small loose beige head. Fruity aroma. Sweet, with Ribena at first. Pine & spice follows through with a vanilla and almond sweetness in the finish. Initeresting and surprisingly complex beer, but it might be a tad on the sweet side for some.
