Britain’s most favoured light ale, often mixed with Young’s Bitter. Pale amber in colour with a complex but clean and nutty nose. A clean, satisfying blend of malt and hops, more bitter than the average light ale.
Maris Otter pale ale, torrefied barley, crystal malt, fermentation sugar and Fuggles and Goldings hops.

Dunkelgoldene, Ale-typische Farbe. Cremiger Schaum.

A fairly smooth tasting bitter with bitterness as its dominant character, although its low alcohol value makes it milder and more quaffable than many of its contemporaries. Golden with a disappearing head.

275ml bottle - a light golden ale a feint hint of hops, white head, a bit of a tang in the first sip. Decent bitter after taste.

275ml Brown bottle, best before 1st May 2011, poured into (in Aug 2011)a ’Good People’ glass, all the way from Birmingham ALA. Looked fine, light amber clear body and a full off-white foaming head on top. No huge aroma, but the Fuggles and Goldings give it a slight hop smell. The taste is crisp and sharp, a good blend of ingrediants. You’d never guess it is only 3.2%ABV by the flavour it holds. Having said that, it is a light ale, so it wasn’t going to be rich and heavy in anything really. Easy to drink and ideal to quench a thirst without taking on board to much alcohol.

275ml bottle. Pours dark orange with a small, frothy head. Aroma is watery caramel and dusty, boiled sweet malt. Taste is bland and watery. A little grain. Not bad, just nothing really there.

Bottle at home in London, shared with Lyoli and Ivanka. Pours clear, light gold with a filmy head. Aroma holds some cereal malts and faint sugar. Flavor is lightly sweet with hints of toast, caramel, and bread. Light bodied with average carbonation. Slightly bitter to finish, watery malts and cereal. Drinkable but quite, quite light.

Slightly hazy gold beer. Initially sharp and crisp but rapidly gives way to a very watery beer with an unpleasant dry snap in the finish. Bleugh!

275ml bottle from a Christmas present 2009. Wow, an almost tasteless beer. Bit of sting on the finish, could be hops or could be the carbonation. Its enormously light in the flavour, but not horrible just because it doesn’t taste of anything at all.

275ml bottle at the Fountain, Hythe.Amber with a dense white head and moderate carbonation; sickly malt aroma; herbal bitterness, with some sweet malts, fuller bodied than expected; gently bitter finish. Not bad for a Light Ale.
