Canned beer has made a serious return in the craft brewing world. Prior to this resurgence, the only beer found in cans were industrial lagers. So as a nod in both directions we present an elegantly crisp and hoppy new world lager. The light and refreshing pilsner malt body delivers an abundance of floral, spice, and grass driven hop flavors and aroma. Perfect for those luxurious cruises through the Caribbean.

4 pack drunk 6/4/16. Didn’t get the date but I believe it was both quite fresh and refrigerated.
Good carbonation and a large white head top a pale, brassy-golden liquid with good clarity.
Lots of grass and melon, with very light honey-biscuit in the background and just a hint of resin. It’s highly aromatic and while this grassy-melon (very heavy canteloupe-like notes, also like another rater’s suggestion of pommelo) may not be my favorite hop aroma, it works well to both differentiate this from the million other new IPLs/IPAs coming out and to give this a little bit more "light", traditional, Continental lager nose. Yes, obviously I realize the American hop notes, melon and citrus are anything but traditional, but it still is closer than had this been a big ol’ tropical juice or grapefruit bomb.
Moving on, the mouthfeel provides tons of dextrine and tight carbonation with light biscuit notes adding a touch of pleasing graininess. Bitterness is high, but not excruciatingly so, with such a fine malt character that it’s hard to not fall in love with. Tons and tons of flavor for such a low abv and that’s what earns most of my respect here.

16 oz can purchased as a single at Bombay Wines and Spirits in St Charles, Missouri. Illegible date is printed on the bottom of the can. The pour is a slight haze yellow golden with a big three inch frothy white head. The aroma is cracker malt, a bit of metallic, and floral earth hop towards the back. The taste is bright and clean floral herbal resin hop on top of clean fresh cereal grain. The palate is light bodied with active scrubbing carbonation and a dry mineral floral finish. Quite drinkable, tasty stuff.

Can shared in London - many thanks to Fergus. Pours clear yellow-gold with a creamy, white head. The nose has some citrus notes, pale grains, hay. Light-medium sweet flavor, flinty, with more pithy citrus, dried grains, grass. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Pithy and minerally on the finish, with more citrus rind, pale grains, bitter grass and husk. Not bad.

Can. A- Grains, corn, citrus, subtle spice. A- Golden color, clear liquid, white head. T- Spices, bitter, grains. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- This would be a great gateway beer for someone going form macro to micro. That said, I didn’t like it. Like a pale ale mated with a pale lager. Somehow this manages to be the number 1 pale lager in the world. Tenfold better than a bud light but I’d still pass.

Stillwater Artisinal’s Yacht Dry-Hopped Session Lager 4.2% Pouring a lightly cloudy gold with a thick soapy head of foam and has an aroma which can only be described as mouth-watering. Huge herbal peppery pine with lemon-lime hop character. Light bodied with a super dry finish (Asahi eats this beer’s dust). The taste features crisp crackery pilsner malt and big grassy/fruity hops. I enjoyed the Mono but I am digging this more. Great hoppiness, dry quenchable body and a lower ABV has me thinking I could down a few of these on a summer day easily. Great stuff.

Can. Lightly hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has good fine minerally crispness. Very light malts with an equally mild sweetness. Light but vibrant fresh orange, tangerine and orange pith. Touches of lemon and grapefruit. Light crisp finish. Not that lager like but it has nice fresh citrus and a touch of pine.

Can from Craft beer cellar Westford Slightly hazy deep yellow color with a huge frothy white head that persists. Initially the nose was a bit sulfury but that dissipated thankfully. Lemony citrus with a crackery maltiness. Flavorful easy drinker, would make a nice summer session ale.

16 ounce can from John’s. Pours a clear yellow color with a large white head. A grainy sweet nose. Light, lemons, some honey, basic sweet and easy lager. Pretty nice really. If I could get it cheap I’d drink this. 2.65$ for a 16 ouncer wasn’t too bad.
