Narwhal Imperial Stout is inspired by the mysterious creature that thrives in the deepest fathoms of the frigid Arctic Ocean. Featuring incredible depth of malt flavor, rich with notes of espresso, baker’s cocoa, roasted grain and a light hint of smoke, Narwhal is a massive malt-forward monster. Aggressive but refined with a velvety smooth body and decadent finish, Narwhal will age in the bottle for years to come.

Dark brown color with thin head. Aroma is slightly sweet malt and mild coffee. Had this after aging 10 years. Sweet malt, dark fruit, and sweet dark chocolate taste with a mildly bitter flavor. Rich and full-bodied. Smooth finish, not as bitter as the 2024 new batch, assume from mellowing of the hops over time.

Pours black. Small white head. Scent is roasty, fairly full. Scent is bit of soy, roasty, chocolate, noticable age factor settled in, but embraces the quality of the beer - it's in no way turned bad. Full, malty finish. Classic imperial stout greatness.

Bottle from Stone in Asagaya for National Stout Day 2015. Pours an inky black with a one-fingered brown head. Aromas of prune, raisin, sorghum, cacao, roasted malt and booze. Taste is sticky with some sweetness, average carbonation. Not really that complex on the palate. Finishes roasty and bitter with some light warming alcohol.

Bottled August 23rd. I like it more than the recent bottle of the BA version I had.
