Bottle bought through Systembolaget. Pours reddish black with a frothy blackish beige head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is slightly sweet and malty with roasted malts, high quality dark chocolate, vanilla fudge, charred wood, sweetened dark roast coffee, soy sauce, dark roast coffee, liquorice fudge and hints if nose tingling alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty with heavily roasted malts, charred wood, vanilla fudge, toffee, moist soil, vanilla hard candy, shredded coconut, roasted hazelnuts, dark roast coffee, liquorice fudge, toffee and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is soft, velvety, round, tiny roasted astringent and near full bodied. Finish is slightly sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, bourbon, soil, shredded coconut, burnt caramel, toffee, charred wood, liquorice fudge and hints of alcohol. Balanced and very tasty...

22 oz bottle. 2012 vintage. Pours black with light to moderate tan head. Aromas of rich dark roasted malts, pumpernickel/oatmeal, and alcohol. Flavors are similar with notes of toasted coconut and licorice. Big, full, and boozy. Very good but over priced - at least double that of equally good or better barrel aged Imperials.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out lots of exquisite bourbon, oak and wood. Flavour is insanely complex, with loads of bourbon, vanilla, oak, and roasted malt. This must be the finest of the Eclipse series - amazingly complex and deep. Highly decadent and drinkable. Awesome stuff.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of bourbon and rich black chocolates is very soothing. Taste is also dominated rich black chocolate notes with some medium bourbon notes with really rounds off the rough or bitter edge of the base stout. Body is full with nice oily and creamy texture with good carbonation with alcohol not that apparent in this version.

Taste is sweet mocha mixed with some roast, caramel, toffee, some whiskey but not much, chocolate, coffee, dark chocolate, barrel is pretty light, touch dark bread, leaves. Substantial body but not the heaviest. Okay but definitely expected more here. The 20 Year version was way better in my memory.
