(Bottle) Black colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of black coffee, liquorice, black-currant, oak wood, dark chocolate, soy sauce and aromas of red wine. Roasted, malty taste with black coffee, black-currant, blackberries, liquorice, anise, soy sauce, red wine and oak wood. A slight tannin sourness shining through in a finish with a certain alcohol glow. Quite bitter. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Not quite as balanced as some of the other Black Holes, but still a nice one.

Smaker bare surt. Svartvin? Tanninene fra fatet ødelegger et godt øl.

Bottle from Voldby Købmandsgaard - pours a black dark reddish colour. With a small beige head. Aroma and taste of roasted malts, caramel, red wine tinged woody nuances, slight coffee and choc, berry type fruits. Complex, slick, vinous with a good subtle boozeyness in the finish. Beautiful.

Sample at the "Far Out! Space-themed beer tasting" on 10/01/2013. Pours an opaque black color with a medium frothy light brown head that diminishes gradually. Patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of dark chocolate, wood and dark fruit. Full-bodied with a subtle vinous character and flavors of semisweet chocolate, roasted malt and a bit of black licorice. The finish is roasty with a chocolate and oak aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Opaque black beer with a short lived mid tan head. Softish and semi dry palate, smooth. Rich dark malt smoothed out by mellow wood (but no sweet vanilla oak here). Mild chocolate and milder coffee. The red wine is subtle but definitely there and a nice counterpart to the rich malt. Finishes smooth and dry with a little zing.

Bottle at home (BOE) 25/12/12. Pitch black with a decent tan head that collapses to the edge and leaves a film. Nose is dark chocolate, sweet sugars, dark malts, light wood and booze. Taste comprises roast malts, bitter dark chocolate, wood tones, molasses, touch of liqourice, booze. Full bodied with soft carbonation containg a touch of fizz, boozey sweet finish. A more than decent big and complex imperial stout!
