Bottled. Hazy ruby, small beige head. Aroma and flavour of cheap white wine. Sweet and sour, citric and soapy. Light notes of maple syrup that hides in cranberry lambic. Confusing.

A dark ruby brown ale with a nice lacing light moka head. Interesting aroma of coriander, lemon, cinnamon and maple. In mouth, two layers of sweetness, the one from candy sugar, with its peated wood notes, typical of Belgian browns, the other layer, the sickly sweet sugar syrup, or like Paspoe said, cough syrup sweetness. Still, nice curacao notes. Alcohol burn in final. Bieropholie import, BB 21/12/11

(Bottle 33 cl) A beautifully warm, reddish beer with a dense, off-white head. Unusual, spicy and sweet aroma. Full body, quite sweet with some burned caramel. And also some strange accents that mostly remind me of cough syrup. Subdued bitterness. An interesting and unusual beer, but I’m not sure if I actually like this. 211007

Bottle: Poured a deep opaque brown color ale with a huge dirty white color foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma is comprised of candi sugar and doughy yeast with maybe some subtle note of maple syrup. Taste is a mix between candi sugar, doughy yeast some dry fruits and subtle maple syrup. Body is full with some great carbonation and no alcohol was detectable. I must admit that I enjoyed that one even though the maple syrup was not overly dominant.

Brown bottle, 33 cl, best before 21/12/11, savoured on June 18 2007; eye: ruby, voluminous coffee head that leaves a little carpet to protect the beer, clear, no effervescence, lots of lacing; nose: light malt, sweet (maple syrup), ginger, cinnamon, wood (oak), clove; mouth: in that order, syrupy, sweet, caramel, cannot taste the malt but can feel its presence, ashy, sweet finale in maple syrup with hints of hops, cinnamon, pepper and clove, creamy and sticky texture, quite sweet, slightly bitter, full body, not much carbonation; overall: fine but me and maple syrup beers just don’t get along… I guess you have to be from Québec to enjoy the irony FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 33 cl, meilleure avant 21/12/11, savourée le 18 juin 2007; œil : rubis, mousse café abondante qui laisse un petit tapis pour protéger la bière, claire, pas d’effervescence, dentelle abondante; nez : léger malt, sucrée (sirop d’érable), gingembre, cannelle, boisée (chêne), clou de girofle; bouche : dans cet ordre, sirupeux, sucrée, caramel, on ne goûte pas le malt mais on sent sa présence, cendrée, finale toquante en sirop d’érable avec des pointes de houblon, cannelle, poivre et clou de girofle, texture crémeuse, très sucrée, très légèrement amère, corsé, texture collante, peu carbonatée; en résumé : correct mais moi et les bières au sirop d’érable… il faut bien vivre au Québec pour ne pas aimer une bière au sirop d’érable

Bottled at Delirium, Gothenburg. Chestnut-colored and hazy, with a large, collapsing beige head. Spices, cardamom and ginger me thinks, yeast, apples and some cherry notes in the aroma. The flavor is sweet and gingery, with some alcohol and sugar. Sticky and maybe a bit too thin body. Long spicy finish that leaves me with the Christmas feeling. (060823)
