Intense dark roast, and alot of bitterness. Bitter cocoa, and some strong coffee notes. A thin lager like mouth feel, and low to medium carb. The finish is again, quite bitter with pine resin notes. Alcohol is very well hidden, and this is quite drinkable. Interesting take on the style.

Éléments de torréfaction bien présents à l’entrée de bouche qui cèdent rapidement leur place à une complexité sucrée pour réapparaitre en finale et nous donner une amertume douce mais efficace. Présence de mélasse, de fruits noirs, d’anis, de chocolat, de café. Les houblons sont très légers et présentent un aspect subtilement résineux. Le corps est définitivement plus rond que normal et la carbonatation très douce. Beaucoup plus sucrée que la majorité des bières de ce style mais ô combien délicieuse et complexe. 600 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with moderate head. Aromas of dry roasted malts, chocolate powder, and nuts. Flavors follow same, clean and dry. Very nice example of style.

Bottled, thanks Lubiere! Dark brown, rich firm head. Spicy chocolate aroma. Mid sweet with medium-full body and well rounded moutheel. Creamy with licorice and coffee, chocolate and toast. Spicy bitter finish. Harmonious.

Draught @ Milk & Hops - Chelsea. Dark brown with slight reddish tint against the light, small creamy tan head, light coffee aroma, medium carbonation, sweetish mocha taste, smooth body, longish mocha finish. Very well balanced and smooth dark lager.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: pours black with a beige head. Aroma is chocolate, slight maltiness. Taste is slightly sweet. Nice chocolate. Nice malt. Well put together. Quite good.
