This Triple is a performance, powerful and rich at once, without ever falling into excess. This is a beer that spreads its complexity, without falling into heaviness. The color is golden yellow, bright. The nose has touches of honey, candied apricot . The palate is complex, silky, intense, long, fruity with touches of almonds and dried white fruit. The alcohol content is never overpowering and the end is marked by a touch of bitterness that prolongs the pleasure again and again ...

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Pours a slightly hazy, pale gold with a fizzy, white head. Holds a rich bubblegum, yeast aroma. Flavor is lovely, medium sweet, pleasantly yeasty with notes of coriander and orange citrus. Medium bodied with average, fairly lively carbonation. Sweet finish, light candi notes, more citrus, yeast and mild bubblegum. Solid beer.

Bottle, aged 7 years, at CafΓ© Lembeek, Nagoya. Clear golden color with a fine, thick, low head. Slightly oxidized, smooth. A very typical aged tripel flavor. Big honey, cream, bread. Thick and rich, smooth and full. Nicely bitter still. Good.

A cloudy gold yellow beer, white adhesive head. Aroma of citrus and yeast. Taste is mainly sweet, sugar, some hops and citrus. Aftertaste is still somewhat sweet and very little hops. Not a very good example of a tripel.

Bottle, bb a month ago. Almost clear orange with a lacy white head. Aroma is more apple than orange with a little grass, spice and brioche. What sweetness there is is fruity and orange comes ahead of apple. Mild hops and medium carbonation for the style give it a nice light dry mouthfeel. It’s low on Tripel-ish yeast complexity, but it’s certainly there. Quite (white) peppery finish. Light and not terribly complex for the style, but very nicely balanced.

Pours golden/amber with a large lasting head.Nose shows doughy, bready yeast, along with hints of pears, green apples and white grapes. Nice, but nothing special.Very sweet and boozy flavours, with sweet bread and pears first up before lots of hot alcohol rolls through.Carbonation is a little too high.

2nd October 2008. Bottle in the Rake. Clear gold beer. Very sweet and fruity. Light crispy palate but a soft finish. A pleasant surprise.
