This special release is brewed just for the holidays. For a new approach to a classic favorite, we added cherries to our traditional Chocolate Bock for a sweet, slightly tart note. Aged on a bed of dark cocoa nibs, the malty, chocolaty, and dark fruit flavors create a rich, complex beer perfect for winter. Cheers!

Pretty good dessert beer. The chocolate and cherry are both present without being overbearing. I like it better than I expected.

Bottle. I really love chocolate cherry beers. Not as good as the O’fallon . cherry chocolate one but close. Very dark in color, tan decent head. Aroma is cherry and chocolate. Taste is chocolate cherry with a bitter after taste.

My buddy had a bottle of this leftover from winter so I couldn’t resist the dusty bottle in August. Smells and tastes like a cherry cordial. Really quite good. Not overly sweet or chocolatey, but very similar to the holiday candy. I’d do this again for dessert any time.

12oz bottle from holiday sampler. I don’t why Sam Adams didn’t try a chocolate cherry porter instead of a bock, you’d think that would work a little better. Anyways, this poured a brown to red into the pint glass. Like the other bottles from the holiday sampler, this is overly done and limits you to one or two. The cherry in this begins well balanced with the sweet malt backbone but after awhile its like having cough syrup.

Bottle. Strong maraschino cherry and light chocolate aroma. Dark brown with moderate tan head. Sweet-lightly tart cherry and chocolate malt flavor. Really no bock characteristics at all but still a pleasant fruit beer.

Bottle. A- Cherry, chocolate, cream. A- Black color, dark liquid, brown head. T- Medium sweetness, slightly malty, cherries, cocoa. P- Medium body, thin texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- I didn’t have high expectations, but this was actually enjoyable. It seemed a little thin, but the chocolate and cherry tones felt natural and balanced. Quite good.

On tap @ Black Bottle. Pours a fairly clear reddish brown appearance with a brown head. Maraschino cherry x20, chocolate, light vanilla, tart aroma. Flavor is more subdued but still very good. Tart black cherry, caramel, cookie flavor. Very similar to Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat in terms of the cherry. Great.

12 oz bottle from the winter variety pack. Aroma is maraschino cherries, chocolate, roasted malt. Pours dark brown with red highlights and a one finger beige head that falls fairly fast. Taste is sweet with a little bitterness in the finish. Along with the chocolate and cherries, I get toasted marshmallow, licorice, caramel. Mouthfeel is creamy, body medium. Dessert in a glass.
