Cask from Coach & Horses, Dronfield. Dark copper/amber. Not a lot of scent, some heady malt and orange peel. Spicy sweet taste with cloves and nutmeg gives way to a bitter finish. Pretty good but too much sweet spice for me.

Tap at the Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden. Poured a clear copper colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is spicy malt, over ripe fruit. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a rich malt fruit cinnamon clove spice palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at Craft St Giles, 27/12/14. Amber copper with a well appointed beige head that retains well, good lacing ensues. Nose is candied fruit peel, orange, light spice, biscuit. Taste comprises sweet licks, toffee, toasted nuts, herbal notes, fruit rinds, light candy bar. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with light bitterings. Decent lightly spiced winter warmer, would have this as an English Strong, not an ESB considering the ABV!

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden on 28th December 2014. Amberish-brown with thinning off-white part-lacing foam. Spicy and malty in aroma and in-mouth with moreish warmth, and a finish containing plenty of fresh herbiness. Fair body and solid yet velvety texture.

Cask, handpump at The Hunters, Horsley Woodhouse, Derbyshire Tuesday 24th December 2013 Pours dark brown, clear as a bell. Spicy with some bitter cocoa powder. Not sure of the strength but its quite rich, I’m guessing it ain’t that strong. Nice middling spicy bitterness, fruity & tangy, its good. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

On cask at Stags Head, Psalter Lane, Sheffield - Deep russet body, lacing white top, aromas is a mix of dried spices - nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger - bit of a savoury taste, with a malty caramel finish. Okay, but not the best Thornbridge have to offer.
