Perfect for any summer day, Samuel Adams® Porch Rocker was inspired by traditional Bavarian Radlers that mix beer with German-style lemonade. For our bright and citrusy Radler, we blended a Helles beer with lemon for a fresh-squeezed lemon taste, effervescent sweetness, and slightly tart, refreshing finish. A light malt character and hint of hops balance out this summer brew.

Bottle on a balcony: hot sunny day in Orange County. 7th July 2014. This golden refreshing brew had a thin white head after 20 seconds. It started off with a good deep looking covering but faded very quickly. Loads of lemon esters in both the nose and taste. Not my usual sort of tipple, but it did the job on the day. Pleased I had one, but we didn’t become lifelong friends and we both moved on.

12oz bottle from Wegman’s, Buffalo, NY. Pale amber with a ring of white head; grainy aroma; lemony taste with a grainy body; and a clean finish. Just what a Radler is supposed to taste like - light and refreshing.

I got this in the 12 bottle Summer pack. There’s a best by date of August 2014.
I poured both bottles into a pint glass.
The appearance was a super clear yellow color with bubbles clinging to the sides of the bottle and a carbonation that shoots up like shooting stars to feed the head. The head starts at/about 2 fingers and rapidly dissipates to a foamy bubbly-ness with some foamy lacing kinda going all over the place.
The smell, was I think Sam Adams was going for the German Radler. Did they do that here? I’m pretty sure as it definitely smells like true lemonade with beer. Now, what style of beer, well, that seems to be up for grabs.
The taste is sweet refreshing lemonade. There isn’t any aftertaste but there is definitely a watery finish.
On the palate, this one sits extremely light and shows a definite refreshing sessionability running about my mouth and tongue. The carbonation is refreshing and crisp.
Overall, well, its a Radler by style, but in my opinion, there’s too much lemonade and not enough of the beer. I probably wouldn’t have it again. But if you like the fruitier Radlers, go for it.

Bottle. Golden yellow with small foamy white head, lemon aroma, high carbonation, tasting lemon and a hint of hops, longish finish with lemon zest aftertaste. Would be good in the heat of the summer, especially if it’s ice cold.

Bottle. A- Lemons, grains, corn. A- Golden color, clear liquid, white head. T- Lemonade, sweet. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, sweet finish. O- A nice shandy. Probably one of the better one out there. Very refreshing and not too sweet or tart. A solid beer that’s not too overbearing or artificial tasting.

At a 1 year old’s birthday party: Pours golden with white head. Aroma is lemon and sugar. Taste is beer attenuated with lemonade and sugar. At first, I thought it was tolerable, but it took real effort to get to the bottom of this one. I could have lived without this beer entering into my life.

bottle at Ft Wayne tasting Sep 14 2013 - Pours clear gold and smells like lemon hard candy. The flavor is like lemon candy and some light malt. It’s bubbly, light bodied, and kind of watery. The aftertaste is still sweet. This... is not good.
