10oz pour at PPD. Pours a murky, garnet red with some quickly fading head. Nose has an odd mix of vinegar and vanilla, some red grape, some rotting melon, some dried berry, acetic acid. Flavor follows, currants, raisins, some red wine vinegar, some wet wood. Full bodied, hot, acetic finish.

9oz snifter at Smoke and Barrel pours a murky copper amber with some tight, white head. Nose has some unripened plum, some dried cherry, plenty of vinegar, malt vinegar and red wine vinegar, some wood pulp, apple skins. Flavor is the same, malty and vinegary, dried fruit, wood pulp. Full bodied, tart, acetic finish.

On cask at Pizzeria Paradiso DuPont circle. Pours a murky brown with a feint tan head. Aroma of cider vinegar. Musky vinous flavors wth some oak and vanilla. Complex and tasty.

Nice stuff. Lots of tart berries in here, black current, cherry and others. Light wooden aroma. Light bretta citrus aroma. Cask at pizzeria paradiso Dupont.

Draft. Mahogany beer with a dark cream head. malt and light tart aroma. Tart and oak flavor with light sour and light red fruit. Medium bodied. Oak and vanilla linger with light red fruit and tartness/light sourness.

On tap at Birra+Modus operandi wild beer a sour brown with an oaky tart nose on s brown body. The taste is really well balanced barell oak, chocolate then a tart acidic sourness. Really good stuff.

It pours brown, 1 finger head of foam and good lacing. I see some sediment in my glass.
It smells very funky, fruity, oaky with light vanilla notes.
That’s all in the taste too but there’s quite a bit of tartness going on as well, tannins like in wines. Tastes good.
Medium mouthfeel.
An interesting brew but worthy of multiple repurchases? For me, no.

Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub shared by Erwin Van Moll. Hazy dark red color, virtually no head. Aroma is red fruits, sourish. Tastes about the same: red fruits, light to moderately sour, slightly winey, wood. Decent body and carbonation.

Bottle fom Bacchinalia, Cambridge. Consumed at what used to be my home, now my ex-wife’s home, in Bedford. Plus ça change. Or summat like that. Reddish brown, hazy as hell. A confident tight little tan-khaki head. Shot through with sediment. Soy sauce, red wine tannin, oak, yeast in the aroma. Sour fruity taste, a bit harsh at first but rounding and sweetening slightly in the finish. Sour-bitter woody aftertaste. Nicely put together.
