Imperial Stout brewed to form part of the Red Willow barrel aging programme, this is the non aged version and is only available in very limited quantities. Rich dark coffee with a hint of smoke and a luxuriously smooth mouth feel.

Bottle @ benzai. Pitch black with a medium sized dark brown head. Smells liquorice, roasty, toasty, slightly maple syrup. Tastes coffee, roasty, chocolate, moccha. Nice! These guys should only make dark brown/black beers. Medium to full body, soft carbo, nice!

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque black color, medium sized brown head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, lightly roasted malts, a little liquorice, slightly earthy. Taste malts, lightly roasty, lightly liquorice, good bitterness with a hint of dark chocolate. Medium body, suitable soft carbonation. Good one!

Gravity dispense at Craft 100, CBC Clapham, 02/04/15. Black with a moderate tan covering. Nose is roast malt, charr, toffee, biscuit, light cocoa. Taste comprises liquorice, spice, chocolate, ashen notes, treacle toffee, molasses, tar. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok approachable impy - masks the ABV well but lacks depth for the style.

Cask at the craft beer co 100. Dark mahogany brown coloured pour with a lasting loose dark tan head. Aroma is woody, rough, charcoal, tart apple, ash. Flavour is dry ashy roast, charcoal, little tart apple, warming alcohol, burnt brown sugars. Palate is full, solvent, mellow carbonation, dry in the finish. Little bit rough round the edges.

Cask at Craft 100. It pours near black with a small beige head. The nose is smooth, toasty, earth, cocoa, chocolate ice-cream and dried fruits. The taste is bitter-sweet, earth, toast, cocoa, coffee grounds, light alcohol, chewy malt and dried fruits with dry finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Not a whole lot of depth, but drinkable enough. OK.

Draft at Craft 100 April 2015 - London. Pours deep brown-black with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds strong roast, chocolate and raisins. Medium to big sweet flavor with oily chocolate, bitter earth, raisins, figs. Full bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Lightly warming on the finish with notes of burnt marshmallows, earth, chocolate, dark fruits. Great balance. Solid.

Craft #100 fest at Clapham. Cask. Almost opaque dark amber - brown beer, small pale tan head. Rich dark brown malts, little dark chocolate, traces of coffee, molasses and marmite. Light tangy semi dry finish. Decent.

Cask. Shakespeares, Sheffield. Nearly black. Bubbly, tan head. Dark chocolate. Dark cherry. Ripe stone fruits. Chewy toffee. Drinks sweet, rich, smooth, turning roast bitter. A bit boozy. A bit gum numbing. Finishes chewy sweet, and long, slightly ashy, dry and bitter. Good stuff.

Keg @ Trades Club, Hebden Bridge. Black with next to no head. The initial taste is the alcohol as this is strong tasting each time, but there enough stout flavour to almost enjoy this style. Its strength is also evident in its nose, but it has enough roasted malt aroma to please in this respect.

Keg at the hanging bat... Deep black.. Thin tan lacing... Soft dark chocolate roast.. Light licorice nose ... Dark roast... Dark malts... Mellow roast... Soft chocolate... Light thin body... Tiny coconut husk... Nice but body is too light... Needs CASK 4.2 Oh look cask at the craft100... Superb... All the above and more... Fantastic even had a 2nd.. Which says it all really 4.5
