Bottle at the 500 Miles Tasting, the Sham - thanks to Colin for this one. Pours clear gold, lightly effervescent with a creamy, white cap. Sugary white bread aroma, faint cabbage. Medium sweet flavor, simple pale malts, white sugar, biscuits, hay. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, little bitterness, white bread, straw. Kind of sugary, very basic.

Prawie tak dobre jak orginał z Anglii. Kolor w porównaniu jest nieco jaśniejszy lecz mocna piana na tym samym poziomie. Bardzo puszysta. Słodowy smak zdecydowanie dominuje

Bottle from Bier Koning. Solo hungover tasting in my hotel room! Clear amber beer, small off white head. Palate is slightly soft, good carbonation. Well balanced. Quite strong pale malt with marmalade orange hop. Light minerals. Dry finish. Decent and tastes authentically old fashioned!

250ml bottle, 5% abv, from a local kiosk. Bubbly patches at the top of a clear, golden body. Roasted, almost burnt, malty smell. Brittle caramel malts in flavour. Smooth ending. OK plus (hotel room, Brugge 03.05.2011).

Bottle from the Fiddler, Den Haag. Slightly bitter and hoppy, nothing particularly interesting but drinkable none the less for a simple ale.

(bottle, 25cl, 5.2% abv) Hazy, amber colour with a short and off-white frothy head. Sweet and nutty toast-malty aroma with a tinge of caramel and delicate fruity hops. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Toast-malty and nutty taste with shy hints of caramel and a rising hops character towards the moderately dry and bitter finish with subtle fruity notes. Not bad. 02.XII.09

Bottle (copyright by Quack-Duck!): Unclear, amber coloured, quite stable off-white layer; light fruity-caramelly nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; slightly warming caramelly, bitter and fruity finish. Quite good sample from a swill-producer........
