A fluffy, off-white head over a deep toffee brown body. The nose leads with honey, a touch of spice, butter and some herbs. Taste features dark honey, apricot, toasted grain in a slightly herbal wash. Hints of hops and ground nuts help balance the sweetness. A relatively dense body with a slightly slick mouth feel. Enjoyable.

Nutty, sweet malts. No hops, maybe a little minerals. Regular mouthfeel and carb. Njtty finish, very sweet bready malts. Some light hoping in the finish stricly from a bitterness standpoint. Meh.

Pours a mahogany-copper colour with a mocha thick head, but not creamy, lasting an average time with not much lacing. Very sweet nose of brown sugars and loads of apples. After a sip, I get some slight creamy lacing. The taste is not as sweet as expected from the aromas. Malted roasted grain with some decent hops that calms the sweetness. Nutty notes with the mild honey appearing in the aftertaste. Seems like a red ale. That’s about it. Nothing exceptional. Maybe a little too much yeast. Something off overall.

Bilan positif mais au nez, c’est un peu surprenant (je n’arrive pas à déterminer ce que ça sent)... On goûte bien les grains grillés et le miel mais à part ça, je ne distingue rien de bien spécial.

Bouteille de 50cl, embouteillée 01/2013. Couleur cuivrée, col blanc cassé presque café au lait. Arôme offre de suite un bouquet agréablement mielleux accompagné de notes fruitées noires. Malt grillé et une once de sucre brun. Palais marque une alliance de smalts (grillé, pâle et caramel) avec l’onctuosité du miel. Ce dernier se note bien sans pour cela être surfait, quoique 50 cl reste copieux à terminer. Un léger fruité noir arrive en fin de bouche offrant une palette de date voire de raisin sec. Laisse un collant léger sur les lèvres.

A dark brown ale with a thick brown head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with herbal spices, a bit dank, light honey, OK. In mouth, sweet under fermented beverage with coriander and orange peels, cloying and unpleasant.

Bouteille 500ml. De couleur ambrée-brune foncée et semi-voilée. Nez malté de grains sucrés et légèrement rôtis, léger de miel et de caramel avec des notes de noix et de houblon herbeux ainsi que quelques traces fruitées (pommes). Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture légèrement crémeuses et aux faibles notes huileuses. Léger goût de noix avec de faibles traces terreuses lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel ser ajoute rapidement un goût sucré de grains de malt caramélisés et légèrement rôtis ainsi qu’un moyen-léger goût de miel, léger de biscuits et quelques traces de pain puis en finale l’on retrouve une légère amertume de houblon herbeux. Post-goût moyen, légèrement amer de houblon herbeux avec un léger goût rôti et quelques notes de noix.

Aromas are not sticking out much. Very slight cinnamon, anise and caramel. Alcohol is there too. Appearance: Brown with red accents, extremely clear, creamy beige head, generous, but with no lacing. Attack is very smouth with a mix of honey and caramel. Too much honey, it’s masking all other flavors. Very sweet beer. All honey. No bitterness at all.

Bouteille 500ml. Arôme sucrée, miel assez présent. Goût de miel intéressant, plutôt sucrée. Une bonne bière au miel dans l’ensemble.

Bottle: Poured a medium brown color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of honey and caramelized malt is pleasant. Taste is a mix between some caramelized malt with distinctive honey notes and light cereal notes are also noticeable. Body is about average with good carbonation. Nothing to write home about but nothing to complain either.
