Bottle split at the ABC Beers pre Borefts tasting, 24/09/15. Chestnut brown with a moderately appointed off white covering. Nose is dark fruit rinds, light barrel, toffee, faint varnish. Taste comprises toffee, pinch of spice, malty, trace of Cognac. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Drinks well below the stated ABV, carries a light Cognac fanfare but ultimately has little depth or delivery.

Pre Borefts Tasting at ABC Beers, Den Haag. Hazy red - amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is airy with mild fine carbonation. Sweetish creamy malts. Mild spice. Mellow cognac goes well with tangy fruits. More light spice on the mild finish. Decent.

750 ml bottle. A bit of a surprise to see this one at my wife’s work party. Nice. It seems that an employee was told to buy some good beer and his tactic was to buy the most expensive bottles plus a ton of Sapporo. Win! Anyway, pours a ruddy brown color with a medium white head. A big sugary sweet toffee bready nose. The flavor is sugary cognac, deep dark fruit, light grains. Very smooth and big. Solid.
