It’s fiercly bitter thanks to generous amounts of zeus, cascade and amarillo hops. But the bitterness is balanced by a large amber red body built by pilsener, caramel and münchener malts. The result is a beer that is interesting, but won’t wear out your taste buds. That’s ”sessionability”.

Can. Lidl. Clear, deep amber. Decent off white head. Nose has toffee apple. Leafy hop. Caramel. Taste is a fairly nasty mix of burnt caramel sweetness, and harsh, privet leaf bitterness. Sits heavy on the palate. Nasty, metallic bitterness to finish. Eesh.

330ml can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, April 18, courtesy of Jeremy. Thanks Jeremy. Pours clear gold, small white head. Caramel, syrup on the nose. Taste is sweet, caramel malt, some grain, bit mucky. Not great.

Can from one of those Edinburgh Fringe venues. Appearance - amber with a decent but short lived head. Nose - light toffee and sweet malt. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a wishy washy finish. Overall - fairly bland amber.

Can at Soda & Rye, Woking. 16/06/16. Ironically get a grassy smell and not much else. Dark amber with a white head... that fades pretty quickly. Has an initial tang but feels oily on the tongue and is bland in taste. Boring lager but not as awful as it could be.

Can from Booths, Media City. Golden with no head. Has a regular lager malt nose, with some of this in its taste, but there is a mild floral hoppiness that offers some character.

330ml can from Ocado. Clear golden amber colour with a thin white head, disappearing fast. Aroma is grassy, and a little metallic almost. Flavour is also slightly metallic, grainy, some malt, and a light bitterness to it. Drinkable, but bland, lacking something...
