It’s fiercly bitter thanks to generous amounts of zeus, cascade and amarillo hops. But the bitterness is balanced by a large amber red body built by pilsener, caramel and münchener malts. The result is a beer that is interesting, but won’t wear out your taste buds. That’s ”sessionability”.

Can at Wild Lime, Reading. Deep gold with a white head and a soft fizz. Quite smpoth for a lager. There’s some soft sweet malt and a hint of grassy malts but they’re rather lost against the dust, metal and long-dead hops. The flavours are light though, and overall it’s rather bland and thin. An industrial macro lager in fancy (or not so much) packaging. Poor.

Bottle consumed at Cropredy, Fairports Annual Reunion Festival 2015 Friday 14th courtesy of Craig, cheers Craig . Light amber in colour with a white filmy head. A bit gassy in the mouth, sweet, and a bit lacking in flavour, a light bitterness a touch of toffee. Ok. A6 A3 T5 P3 Ov11 2.8

Can at the Prince Regent, Cambridge. Golden brown, clear. Loose white head. Caramel, hazelnut, biscuit spread aroma. Taste is sweet and malty. Quite bland unfortunately, although it is drinkable. Too many good beers out there to drink this.

1st May 2015: just mown the lawns on this bright and sunny day. Thought a 330ml can of this would quench my thirst. Poured into a La Chouffe badged stemmed tulip glass it looked good: clear and clean amber with an off-white bubbly head that hung around. Malts just about push the hop content into second place for both the aroma and taste. There is also an unwanted metallic twang to the beer which does not help it’s cause. It did help to satisfy my thirst but it is not a beer I shall willingly try again.

Amber, clear, frothy white head
Aroma of soft sweet pale malts, light grain, dab of corn
Taste of sweet pale malts, soft grain, touch of corn, soft bitter hops, slight citrus but hardly any Cascade hop
Palate - Medium carb, light body, light sweet. Finish as main flavour.
Overall - Better than a macro lager, but not by much. No point using Cascade etc. hops if hardly any are put in
