Cantillon Crianza Helena is a gueuze bottled in 2008. It is a blend of 40 month lambic from a new cognac barrel, 30 month lambic from a bordeaux barrel (for sweetness), and a 15 month young lambic. It is labeled as 5% ABV.
This gueuze was bottled on behalf of the owners of De Heeren van Liedekercke to mark the occasion of the birth of their daughter. Both 37,5cl and 75cl bottles were available for on-site consumption at the restaurant and 75cl bottles were also available for takeaway. Cantillon provided De Heeren van Liedekercke with unlabeled bottles; the label design and it's application was performed later.

Golden colour, white, relatively firm white head. Aroma of wine, wet cork, fruit, apricot, citrus, light apples and pears. Light sour flavour, bit bitter, very fresh, balanced, lemon tart, silage and wine. Long, sour, fresh malty finish, quite fruity with wood tones.
Great geuze, I’m a big fan of aged Cantillons. My 1000th rating.

Bottle sample @ 2nd RBBSG, August 11th 2012. Courtesy of Travlr.

Sampled at RBBSG (courtesy of Travlr). Hazy yellow to light orange color, small white head. Smell sourness and rubber. Taste sourness, a bit winey, very dry but lovely balance. Medium to full body, medium to full carbo. Great beer.

Cheers to Ryan & Felicia for this one! Straw colour. Hazy. This edition is earthy, sour and fairly gueuzey. A good Cantillon, maybe not showing as much of the wine barrel character as I would have hoped, but a complex, yet drinkable serious gueuze is always welcome.

31st August 2009 Tasting at Mes and Sims flat. Another rare one - Cheers Guys! Clear gold beer. Dry crisp palate. Sour but reasonably mellow lemony lambic! Some faint apple. Very dry finish. Drinkable though! One of the more approachable of the breed.

Bottleshare at CBJ. Thanks to me. Hazy orange gold beer, residual pale cream tan head. Airy dry finish. Yeah still a 3.2 but really, the hype?

Bottle at De Heeren van Liedekercke in March 2012. A bottle (75cl) did cost 50 EUR. Finally I had the chance to try this beer from Cantillon. Pours golden/orange with a small white head. Nice sour aroma with wood, green apples, grape and earth. The taste was nicely balanced, sour with some interesting stuff in the aftertaste. (cognac?). Dry and with a long finish. Fine craftsmanship!

Bottle @ Too many Geuze’s - only one toilet , Ulfborg 2012 - Day 1. Hazy golden color, with a smallish white head. Strong barnyard aroma, lemon, hay, grapes. Very low carbonated. Taste of brett, barnyard, leather, wood lemon. Sour but not extremely sour. Complex and balanced.

375ml bottle at DHVL as part of my Pre-Wedding Celebrations. It pours golden yellow, with a fluffy white head. The nose is floral (esp. chamomile), tart lemon, white grapefruit, wood and some vinous notes. The taste is grass, floral, wood, lemon, white currant, tart white grape, sweet gooseberry and hay, with a long dry-tart finish. Good sweet-sour balance. Medium body and lively carbonation. There’s no denying it’s a quality beer, but I don’t think it’s significantly better than the classic Cantillon gueuze.
