Bottle shared at Moeder Lambic. Pours clear pale golden with a big white head. Aroma is lactic upfront, with a soft freshness from the melon behind, along with spicy and peppery notes. Flavour is light sweet, above light bitter and light sour. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Petits accents lactiques à l’olfactif. des notes citronnées, acidité, un peu de melon. Olfactif standard. Le liquide se présente très pâle, blanc, jaunâtre avec une mousse très effervescente qui disparait rapidement. Propre au style. L’attaque est évidemment très citronnée, pétillante, sèche. Toutes les caractéristiques du style y sont. Les notes sont dominées par le citron. La présence du melon est très subtile. C’est surtout le citron qui ressort. Du jus de citron.

Draught@Moeder Lambic, Brussels. Hazy yellowish golden colour with a small white head. aroma is citrus, mild lactic notes as well as some floral and mildly wheaty notes. Flavour is mildly acidic wheat, some lactic notes, melon, fruits and some citrusy and mildly yeasty notes.

Bottle - Nice sweet and light soured wheat. Nice fruity nose. Cloudy light yellow with a decent white head. Sweet light citrus, banana and fruity notes.

Aroma has citrus, mild melon juice and sweet fruit candy. Flavour has tart citron, some sour cream and green apples. Also some apricot. A simple Berliner with no evident flaws. The melon is rather mellow here.

250 ml. draft @ Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Very hazy wheat golden, fizzing away egg-white head, head makes me think of soda. Nose is mellow melon, lemon wheat, lots of wheat character with some sweetness originating from the wheat, melon, odd mix of wheat & sweetness,… Taste is a bit thin, wheat, quite a bit of sweet thin wheat, aspirin, dough, very low lactic quality, sweetish artificial melon peel, quite soda like,… Rather thin comes across as wheat heavy lemonade, rather dull besides the wheat qualities, lemonade qualities, Vitamin C pills, lemonade, bland, light sugar,… Too much akin to bland lemonade mixed with wheat, disappointing, wheat quality doesn’t mix well with the lemonade quality.
