750ml bottle shared @La Tana (Rome). Hazy golden appearance with a big off-white foam. Aroma of bretta, cheese, saison notes, hay, gooseberry, very good! Flavour is low sweet at first, then some vinous charactere comes out, a gente sourness, some fruity notes, a dry and bitter end. Medium body, medium to high carbonation. Amazing!

Bottle 75 cl. Pours a clear golden with hardly any head. Out of this world sophisticated sour wine aroma. Extremely complex. Light in body, hardly any carbonation, appears almost thin. Not overly sour, more bitter, overripe fruits, noble rot and again this extremely complex flavour pattern. Super delicious. 180315

Thanks to Andre for sharing this one. Pours a hazy golden-amber colour with lots of small particles (looking like spices and yeast). Warm cap, decent retention and thin creamy lacing that goes down quickly. Sour aromas with gooseberries and hints of anise. Tarty mouthfeel, medium-bodied. The taste has a little sourness, but goes away leaving a trail of yeast. All with a herbal finish. Coconut and vanilla notes lingers with the yeast. A nice concoction of a sour ale nose with the flavours which are different. More on the Belgian Ale-side with a nice balance of fruity malts, spices and grassy hops. Glad I could try this !

Bottled February 2014. This is a dark golden brown with a 3 finger lacy head. Honestly, the cap popped off really fast indicating it probably could be a gusher. Aroma has a lot of kiwi, pineapple, some turmeric and mango. Great funky aroma with some grape skins and oak. Love the taste of this. Very dry, so freaking funky. really excellent. Lots of fruit, wine barrel, oak, tannins, tropical overall. this is fantastic.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 27 Sep 2014) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, spicy nose with citrus, passion-fruit, hay and spices. Fruity, spicy taste with notes of tropical fruit, citrus, a touch of brett and a generous spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, quite dry. Spicy yeast character, fairly gentle sourness. Quite complex and very tasty. Excellent beer!

Pours gold into a tulip. White head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Oak, dark grape and marshmallow aromas. Soft with sweet marshmallow upfront turning to dark pit fruit and bitter earth in the lasting finish.

(750ml bottle from Dépanneur Peluso, ~9 months old I think) Pours a pretty lightly hazed medium gold with orange hints and a moderate, tight white head that fades to a ring with lace. Aroma a great blend of funky, sour/tart, sweet, woody. Nose of apricot and peach, mostly candied, a bit tropical (part barrel and part hops?), floral honey dessert wine sweetness, lots of oak, Bretty aged (blue?) cheese funk aplenty. Palate has a nice honey sweet dessert wine-ish malt core that gives structure. A puckering tartness of fresh apricot and yellow plum with skin, light acidity, sweet mango/peach too. Quite a reasonable amount of wood from the middle on. Musty Brett as it dries into the finish. Tick of honey and fruit on the roof of the mouth. Fairly light hop bitterness and a little booze in the aftertaste. Medium full and kind of slick, fairly light carb. Not really a sour but wild and funky with dessert wine flavours imparted from a wine also fermented with something wild and funky. Cool! The stone fruit pairs well with new world hop flavours. Awesome digestif sort of wild ale.
