Brown 500ml bottle, with a whitch design raised picture in the glass shoulder. Best before 31 Dec 2010, drank and reviewd 09 Nov 2010. Poured slowly into an ’Abbot Ale’ glass tankard. Pale golden body, full foaming head of white bubbles sat on top. The head produced some good lacing as the beer sank down the tankard. The smell was of citrusy hops and grain silo’s. The mouthfeel was crisp, sharp and refreshing, the taste a pleasant hoppy flavour, with a grapefruit semi-bitter aftertaste. Not a bad beer, just above average when compared to other English Pale Ales.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Pours clear gold with a small, creamy white head. Light hay aroma with hints of lemon and biscuits. Light to medium sweet flavor, some lightly toasted straw, mild corn and biscuits, some light citrus. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet, biscuity finish, some dough, citrus, straw. A very solid golden ale. There is a freshness and bite to this particular beer that reminds me of a lager. Very nice.

Aroma is slightly fruity with hops, some hay and hints of butter. Flavour is somewhat hoppy with some hay and butter. Yet another golden ale.

50cl bottle. Poured deep golden with a creamy, lasting white head. Aroma is fruty, grainy and slightly hoppy. Flavor is similar, grain and malt, with some citrusfruits, light bitterness. Watery. Have had much better golden ales than this.

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks beerandbeyond. Murky deep golden with a small white head. Aroma of malt, butter, toffee and some slightly floral and earthy hops. Flavor starts sweetish with a bit of malt, a bit of honey and light fruity notes and finishes dry with some hoppiness. Medium-bodied. Kinda OK.

This ale poured a clear, light amber colour with a big rocky, bright white head. To the nose there are scents of citurs, dough, spruce and oranges. First sip was very thin but very hoppy. Low carbonation, flavours of orange rindsand spruce bitterness most forward. Finish is bitter with citrus lasting.

Fruity smell. Golden colour, small head. Fruity, yeasty aroma. Flat palate. Pretty good, but boring.

A golden blonde ale with a thick lacing white head. In aroma, a sweet caramel malt with light peppery hops, and light chlaky notes. In mouth, a smooth chalky and herbal malt, nice and smooth, but a bit boring. Tasted Oct. 15 2011, LCBO bottle. BB 30-06-11.

[500ml bottle, gift from Maureen & Dave - cheers!] Amber-gold with a moderate off-white head that rapidly dimishes. Moderate fizz, and maybe a little thin. Orange, lemon, and flowers with a bit of caramel sweetness. This is refreshing yet comforting at the same time. Surprisingly good for a beer with the dual handicaps of being pasteurised and made by Wychwood.
