Stubby bottle with ring-pull, @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, May 22. Thanks Mark for this. 40 yrs old, and certainly tasted like it. Pours dark brown, exceedingly thin, watery, dusty with spiders legs. For the tick. Scored kindly as clearly wasn't designed to be aged this long.

Bottle with a retro dinky ring pull, split at GBBF '18 day 1, 07/08/18 thanks to Scopey. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a minimal tan covering. Nose is fruit rinds, light soy sauce, oxidised strokes, grains, brown bread. Taste comprises dusty fruits, light toffee, pinch of spice, mellow roast, dried fruits. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Hasn't aged too badly for a 6% porter.

Bottle at GBBF 2018. Dark brown cola coloured beer. Thin tan head. Some age on aroma. Some balsamic vinegar. Some bovril. Some chocolate. Weird. OK though.

Bottle shared at GBBF. 1981 vintage. It pours dark brown with a tiny bubbly beige head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, oily, tangy port, fruit cake, caramel, meaty and oxidised vibes. Taste is slick, sweet, oily, fruit cake, port wine, oxidised vibes, meaty and dull tannin with a slick finish. Medium body and low carbonation. Fruity and oily. Really not so bad for the vintage.
