Rating from 2010: Schöne dunkelbraun-rötliche Farbe, leicht alkoholischer Geruch mit Malznote. --> 7/8/6/7

Sample glass at the 2012 Essen Christmas Festival. Dark brown with ruby hints: small off-white/beige head. Very sweet aroma and taste; malty molasses vie for air as the smell hits the nose, this is one sickly brew. I’ve a sweet tooth and I struggled to enjoy this fully: sugary and syrupy throughout, hides the alcohol well, but I could feel my teeth complaining and arteries furring up as I drank the glass! I couldn’t have had more than the one glass, but I’m glad I had the one I did (honest).

Thx. to Uli for this one / who was quite exited & positive about this one. 75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2013. Darkish brown caramel, beige head. Smell is very sweet, lots of sugar in here, sweet dark fruit, near molasses syrupiness, sweet spices. Sticky sweet caramel, dark fruit, sugar, herbs, syrup, almost molasses, sticky sweet, sweet spices, malty. Touch BE yeast. Bit sticky. Very Belgian, very which why I think Uli quite loves this one, digging this one.

Bottle sample @ 18de Kerstbierfestival, Essen 2012.
