Dark brown, with a lot of vanilla and coffee on the nose, maybe with some chocolate. Big rich body, lots of coffee, burnt and roasty, and this is tempered by quite a bit of vanilla. Really nice, and has a nice bit of vanilla in the finish.

750mL bottle, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out bright cocoa and vanilla upfront, with a touch of espresso, and light roast. Flavour is intense, decadent, and dessert-like, with lots of vanilla, cocoa and dark fruits, accentuated by light coffee and light roast. Very fruity, balanced beautifully, with deep complexity. Beautiful stuff.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of intense coffee and cocoa notes with some chocolate notes also clearly identifiable. Taste is also an interesting mix between some floral coffee notes with light bitter trace, some huge chocolate notes and light vanilla notes. Body is pretty full with good level of carbonation with faint alcohol notes. Enjoyable and barrel-aging of this beer would be wonderful and probably remove some minor rough edges.

2020-07-25, tasting at Ash's, bottle, 8-4-8-4-16=40
Black colour with brown head. The aroma is nice, chocolate, cacao, burnt wood. The mouthfeel is robust, with lip smacking sweetness, and the coffee dominates, with the cocoa nibs.

Pitch black colour. Strong aroma of dark chocolate and cocoa nibs (8+). It's not very sweet, but it has a strong body and smooth mouthfeel, oily, with strong flavour of pure black chocolate, a bit salty, mild coffee, maybe the vanilla. Gentle alcohol warmth as a reminder that this can be a vicious sipper.
Excellent.

Almost black colour with no highlights, a milky head that is chocolate-coloured with good retention and ghostly lace. Bitter cocoa powder nose with the roasted malt and some burnt coffee hints. The taste is full chocolate. Well-balanced between the bitterness and sweetness, all with the coffee. Hints of vanilla lingers. The mouthfeel has a little tart, but some creaminess and eventually, some building dryness. This is quite the Imperial Stout that goes down smoothly with very well-blended cocoa, coffee and vanilla.

A deep dark stout with a thin dark brown head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with light grassy hops , light vanilla, light powdery character, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice bitter chocolate with coffee grind, musty character, alcohol warmth, light vanilla, very nice. On tap at Festibière de Gatineau hiver 2019.
