Marrón oscura, castaña. Escasa espuma. Aroma tostado, malta, madera, oporto. Sabor dulce y licórico. Muy malteado, fruto seco y licor. Bizcocho, caramelo, frutos secos. Todo un pudding de Navidad. 7 grados nada escondidos. Combínese con postres (impresionante con dulce navideño). Si no, parece mas un licor.

(Draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm, 5 Dec 2014) Reddish amber colour with brief, off-white head. Malty nose with caramel, toffee, chocolate and dried fruit. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, dried fruit, apricots, red fruit and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty, rounded and well balanced winter warmer. Nice one.

500ml bottle from Tesco - Clear ruby-brown beer with no foam on top. Nose is a bunch of full ripe fruits, toffee and prunes, a bit bready. Taste has a good rich malt core, light sweetness and some late tartness; dry and spicy finish with more notes of red fruit hoppiness. Really this is a bit of a dark horse. I’d not be unhappy to have another of these.

Bottle from Booths, Media City. Clear dark red with next to no head. It’s strength is initially evident in its nose, and again in taste, although its gentle sweetness throughout dulls this to an extent and its a decent enough but average winter warmer. Has a caramel-toffee aroma.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours an almost clear amber with hardly any head. Slightly phenollic aroma, caramel and nuts as well. Rich, sweet malty body - very low in carbonation. Slightly metallic. Ok I guess - very British. 271214

500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet (1 year old). ABV is 7%. Clear and beautiful deep reddish brown colour. Moderate off-white head. Moderate but nice aroma of dark fruits, fruit cake, Christmas spices and earthy hops. Smooth mouthfeel. The flavour has a moderate malty sweetness, with distinct notes of Christmas spices, also notes of dark fruits and caramel, distinct earthy hops in the finish. Not bad.
