Our IPA and Stout converge for a really great flavor combination to create a rich and robust black & tan. The assertive hoppy character of our Hoppin to Heaven IPA is perfectly complimented by the intense deep roasted flavor of our BORIS Oatmeal Imperial Stout. Two great tastes that taste even better together.

Bottle: Still literally black, medium-sized fluffy tanned head, solid - mainly - "stouty" aroma: roasted malt, fruits and dried fruits plus notes of leather, piney hops underneath; pretty soft, medium to full bodied; moderate to solid bitter flavour; lingering "stouty" finish with lingering piney hops in the long aftertaste. Really a goody.....

Bottle, kindly shared by gunnar. ABV is 7.6%. A blend of 67% IPA and 33% stout. Black colour, moderate beige head. Nice aroma of fruity American hops, just a hint of roastiness. Pleasant roasty and very hoppy flavour.

(bottle, 65cl) Black coloured hue with a tall and moderately persistent tanned foamy head. Stout-like aroma with notes of dark chocolate, leather, mocha and slightly fruity and piney aroma shining through. Roasty bitter and moderately sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a moderate, almost creamy carbonation. Present Stout-character with an aromatic IPA-induced hops profile towards the long-lasting finish. Excellent. 08.VII.11

0.65l bottle. Pours a near black body wit a solid tanned head leaving some lacing. Aroma is really beautiful. The best from two worlds. Strong and hopy, grassy and some fruits, still also nice and roasty with cocoa, licorice and mocha. You think the stout somewhat dominates the aroma, BAM then the hops kicks in. Nice aroma indeed. Full-bodied, has a oily texture - a bit thinner than what I had expected and carbonation is medium. Oh yeah, this combo really works. It has the nice roastiness from the stout and the nice bitterness from the IPA. Nice and sweet but also dark and roasty with licorice and dark malts. Has a lightly citric finish and leaving a longlasting latte-coffee aftertaste.

650ml bottle @ Håndverkerstuene. A black body with a big, dense beige head. Aroma is sweet, black malt with strong citric notes. Flavor is sweet malt, roast, chocolate, coffee, citric fruit, pine and balanced bitter. A fine combo, nice.

Bottle at the Euston Tap, thanks to some guy. Dark brown pour with a huge, beige head. Roasty malts on the nose with some caramel and citusy hops creeping through. Flavor is quite sweet, with some citrus, lighter malts on the end, light tobacco. Medium in body with lively carbonation. Very balanced finish, with good, understated roast, tons of resinous hops, juicy orange citrus and toasted sugar. Some nice, fortifying booze gives warmth. Really hoppy. Damn good.

Bottle from Beer Merchants. Black pour with a tan head (of course). Fruity nose with hints of coffee, chocolate, citrus, herbs and light spices. Interesting. Citrus burst in the flavour followed by coffee and chocolate. Interesting combination, works well. Nice, bitter edge. Sweet and sour finish. Quite dry.

bottle from bierkompass.de. Deep black colour, large and creamy beige head. Spicy hoppy nose with hints of caramel and roasetd malts. Very full-bodied, bitter-sweet - the intensive hop flavours with a citrusy and resiny character go very well with the richt chocolate and caramel flavours of the stout. Indeed a delicious combination - this is good stuff!
