On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a dark reddish amber with a small beige head. Aroma is full of figs, plums, and raisins, with a little toffee. Flavour is very sweet, with similar dark dried fruit notes upfront, with brown sugar and caramel. Sweet and malt-skewed with little hoppy bitterness, but it works - drinkable in small quantities. Nice one.

Draught at St. Augustine's, Vancouver
Hazy amber color. Aroma of sweet nuts, peanut brittle, toffee. Good body strength, sweet, but the mouthfeel doesn't seem to be round as it should be, there is some caramel and toffee flavor, but fundamental lack of malt depth.
Good beer, nothing special.

Dull butt ugly barley wine - they really don't have to look this way, I swear. No head. Some fun notes - a whiff of smoke, toasty caramelized stuff, some fruit floating in and out. Fun, yes, but I don't really know what to make of it yet. Malty bw, with some sugary notes. Pretty simple BW.

Thanks to AleRider78 for picking this up at the brewery. Pours a deeper amber colour with a warm-beige cap, good retention and some decent lacing. Sweet malty aromas with some butterscotch, nutty notes, dark fruits and even soya sauce. Loads of dark fruits like raisins, molasses in the taste. Alcohol is present in the finish, but in a nice warming way. Quite nice for this winter weather. Pretty rich overall.

A dark reddish copper barleywine with a thin mocha head. In aroma, classic caramel malt with vinous notes, resinous floral hops, light butterscotch, very nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with vinous notes, treacle, light butterscotch, resinous and piney hops, alcohol warmth, very nice and warming. On tap at Beau’s Oktoberfest 2016.

Beau’s Two Tonnes of Fun 10.5% A barleywine made with 2 Tonnes of malt, an 8 hour boil and a collaboration with Gigantic. A deep reddish amber brown with a thick light beige head. Lovely medium to full body and slick and syrupy rich mouthfeel. The taste is figs, caramel, coffee crisps, a bit of sharp heat and just a wonderful malt showcase. Good stuff and in 6 months it’ll probably knock everyone’s socks off. Kudos Beau’s.
