A reddish-brown top-fermented bock beer with a rich, caramel-malty flavour and full of tones of toffee, prunes and dried fruits. The roasted malt not only provides a rich fragrance but also a wonderful aftertaste and a subtle bitterness.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a dark chesnut brown with a frothy, long-lasting, off-white head. The aroma is rich raisin, yeast and some dry malt. The flavour is light sweet, light bitter with a sweet watery malt, yeast palate and a very short bitter finish. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation.Not my favourite bok by a long way.

Draft at De Paas. Pour clear amber brown with a tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, dark fruit, caramel and raisins. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

33cl bottle, BB 12/2016. Couleur acajou/cuivrée, col moyen beige. Arôme malt caramel, léger grillé, sucré et fruits noirs sur une légère note chocolatée. Palais est malté sur une légère pointe sucrée, caramel/grillé avec note de chocolat. Fruits noirs; prune avec un beau pétillant et une couche d’amertume en fin de bouche. Le plus de cette bière est que au contraire des Bock allemandes on ne retrouve pas ce profile de faux caramel.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a hazed brown body with a small tan head. Aromas are of dark fruits, raisins, grainy, bready, low melanoidins, and some caramel. Mostly malt. Flavors are of cereal, brown sugar, raisins, dark fruit, nutty, melanoidins. Low bitterness with a malt balance. Lively bubbles, medium bodied. A bit too fizzy for me. Decent.

0.33l bottle @ Braai Tapperij de Mug, Middelsburg. A cloudy deep brown one with a small heavy lacing off-white head. Smells dark malty, sweet, lots of dark dried fruits and some nice chocolate paper. Nice! It's average to lively carbonated and it has a oily to sticky texture in the mouth. In the flavor I get a nice sweetness from dark malts, chocolate, dark caramel, fruits with a sharp boozy finish and aftertaste. This was a really nice one! 29.05.2012
