Draft at the Old School in March 2013 - Oostvleteren, Belgium. Pours clear caramel with a light, tan foam head. Dank apples dominate the aroma. Big sweet flavor with notes of toasted bread, light chocolate, earth and burnt leaves. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish with lots of sticky sugars, bitter apple peel, brown sugar, ripe and dank apples, hints of coffee. A novel beer but it doesn’t really come together.

Draft @ ’t Schooltje – thx! for the ride tderoeck! Dark red ruby amber, slightly brown with an almost gone beige head. Nose is surprisingly vinous, liquorish, sweet spices, red fruits, light alcohol, thick toffee, dark malts,… Taste is liquorish, toffee, once again oddly vicious, sour wood, spices, toffee, sticky malty, not really getting apple, maybe like peel, very, very different from what expected, warming, slight alcohol in the finish,... Body is quite sticky,… Interesting.

Tap at Het Oude Schooltje, Oostvleteren - 23/03/13. Slightly obscured chestnut brown with a thin tan head. Nose is dark malt, apples, light smoke, toffee. Taste comprises brown sugars, caramel, apples, burnt notes, a little booze, like a sugary toffee and apple crumble. Full end of medium bodied with fine carbonation, dry and crisp in the finish with a little booze. Excellent stuff!

Draft @ ‘t Schooltje, merci Carlo.
