A pillowy off white head on a rich amber body. The nose features prominent elements of rindy citrus hops, caramel and apricot. Some big, fresh elements here but still a bit raw, even with the year of aging. Fruity hops, butterscotch, apricots, raisins and pepper don’t necessarily blend completely together. The resolve is a bit metallic. I will give the second bottle another year.

Thanks to AleRider78 for sharing this one (written 10% ABV. and 70 IBU). Hazy amber colour with a golden hue. The head is very creamy, super long lasting, huge, beige with patchy creamy lace. Aromas of dark green leafs, with some caramel and hints of vanilla and sourness. Flavours of fresher hops well-blended with the caramel malts. Beautiful dryness in the finish with the bitterness. A touch of wood shows the aging and some fruitiness all around. A great celebration Barleywine that is again, super balanced from this brewery. So easy to drink. Another winner!

A hazed golden amber Barley Wine with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with vinous notes, treacle , light butterscotch, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with vinous notes, treacle, resinous and piney hops, light mineral notes, alcohol warmth, very nice and pungent. On tap at BTP’s Carnival 2016.

Bottle shared by Tom, thanks! Pours a hazy peachy gold with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a sweet grain note with a good amount of citrus hops and a bit of toffee. Flavor has an earthy toffee note with musty sweet grains and bit if earthy hops.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber/copper color ale with a nice large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry and somewhat grainy notes of malt with not much else to report. Taste is a mix of grainy malt notes with some light dry caramel notes. Body is light with good carbonation and no real apparent alcohol. Blander then I was expecting with not much reason to drink this again.

Cloudy light amber color with small head. Smell of liquid yeast and vegetables, light fruity esters. Boozy, full of vegetable flavors, moderately sweet, a bit nutty.
I will dump the rest of the glass and this vile liquid doesn’t deserve more time spent.

On tap at the Ottawa beerfest. Birthday suit 12% 100 IBU A cloudy amber pour, nice filmy head. A floral hop rich malty bouquet. An American style Barleywine, bitter pine hops, salt-water caramel toffee, tasty bit too bitter for me. Silky smooth on a med-light body.
