malt, apricots, banana and sweet fruit on the nose. a dark butterscotch body with a very thin off-white head. The taste profile features caramel malt, ripe berries, and touches of banana, and hops. The body is rich, but the taste profile is a bit thin for a 14%er. Lacking complexity too. Disappointing.

341 ml bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 13%. Mahogany colour, small off-white to beige head. Pleasant malty aroma, also notes of oak, port wine and dark dried fruits. The flavour has some malty sweetness as expected, but is not overly sweet or cloying. You get the same elements as in the aroma, distinctly oaky, but also with a distinct hop bitterness in the finish. It is permitted to share the bottle between two persons, but I had no problem polishing off the bottle on my own.

Dark brown pour with mahogany hues, and a medium beige head. Dark brown sugar, burnt sugar, coffee, boozy fruit cake, and strong boozy, bready malts. Oily, thick mouth feel, soft carb. The finish is very sweet, but has a long bitter butter finish also. Boozy malts, all sorts of burnt sugars with more hints of coffee. Not as boozy as I expected, but it’s still a real sipper.

Medium brown colour. The aroma has a light toffee, but also a little bit more like tomato with slight dark sugar notes. It seems a bit thin for the size, definitely some toffee and dried fig, but not the huge, complex monster I had sort of expected.

341mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out caramel, dark fruits, and some booze. Flavour is quite heavy, with caramel, bready malt, booze, and some dark fruits. Boozy, but nut detractingly so. Very nice.

A reddish copper ale with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity banana malt with cloves and loads of alcohol warmth, light treacle, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with banana esters, treacle, light butterscotch, loads of alcohol warmth, very nice. On tap at IBU 2016.
