The Trilogy MMXVIII - Hops. Triple IPA collab with Garage Beer Co.
Our Trilogy series is designed to showcase the three core elements that shape every beer you drink.
From across the world, some of the true masters of these ingredients have come to join us at the Old Flax Store to pay homage to Hops, Yeast, and Malt. Each year we add a theme to the trilogy, whether it's geographical, the use of fruit or barrel aging, this family of beers will have common elements built into their DNA.
In the third year of our trilogy series that DNA is IPA.

Keg at HL1, 30/11/18. Almost clear golden orange with a well presented off white covering. Nose is orange peel, melon, airy malts, sweet citric jizz, a little bit thin overall. Taste comprises sweet pineapple chunks, sticky tropicana, sugary feel, sweet melon, toasted malts, papaya. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with splashed with juicy hop bitterness. Too sweet and lacking balance for me.

Tap. Bundobust, Leeds. Hazy, yellow gold. White, leggy, bright white head. Nose has fruited bread. Some fusel notes. Some rubber. Hint of ripe fruit in the background. Taste is mostly sweet, with maybe a hint of fruity bitterness. Medium body. Low carbonation. Seriously sticky on the lips. Sweet finish. Comes across liked a 10 year aged barley wine. A big miss.

Keg at BD Castlegate. It pours clear golden with a small white head. The aroma is more sweet than expected, apricot, peach, papaya, gooseberry fool and white grape. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, gooseberry crumble, fruit pie, odd candy, peachy, nectarine,.candied. Fruits and some boozy alcohol. Medium body and average carbonation. Surprisingly sweet. Not what I was expecting anyhow.
