Imperial Brown Ale Aged in Bourbon Barrels with Toasted Coconut Added
This is our bourbon barrel-aged imperial brown ale, Mash, stretching to new levels. Mash & Coconut features nearly 400lbs. of toasted coconut per batch, which ratchets up the complex, native coconut character and complements the oaky and vanilla notes that are imparted to the beer as part of its extensive maturation in bourbon barrels.

Tap at Beer Temple. Dark ruby brown colour, small beige head. Light raisiny, toffeish, a bit alcoholic aroma. Medium-bodied. Toffee, raisins, alcohol, faint coconut in the flavour. Coconut is really not dominating here. More simple than Vanilla-version I just had before this.

Tap@Bottleshop, Druid Street, London (30/11/2018) - pours a dark amber to brown colour with a beige head. Sweet and toasted malty with prominent dried fruit, with well balanced coconut throughout, cocoa, caramel, singed brown sugar, nutty accents, full bodied, rich bourbon floods into the sweet malty warming close. Excellent.

750 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 13%. Reddish brown colour, large off-white head. Aroma of toasted coconut, bourbon, oak, vanilla, molasses and fusel alcohols Warming mouth- and throatfeel. The flavour is sweet and malty, but still not quite as sweet as I feared. Toasted coconut, bourbon, oak and vanilla again, moderate hops.

On tap. Pours a grainy dark brown with light head. Aromas of burnt sugar, sweet malts and subtle coconut. Flavors follow same with sour bourbon, dark fruit and more emphasis on coconut. Good.
