Brewed with our Scottish pals Fierce beer. This is a decadent porter that's had the full spa treatment. First infused with rum soaked raisins before getting a short rest on American oak chips. Flavours of bourbon vanilla, dark lushios rum and chocolate raisins are ready to invade your palate

8 July 2020. Random Wednesday Tasting; cheers to Anke & Tim! Cloudy black with a stable, foamy, beige head. Aroma of raisin, brown rum, rye bread, roll tobacco, coffee powder, fondant, vanilla, burnt wood. Taste has sweet raisin, prune & chocolate, more bitter fondant & coffee with a nutty edge, earthy underneath, touch vanilla. Dry, earthy hoppy finish, more pronounced tobacco & chocolate powder with some warming rum-like alcohol (yet unexpected at this ABV). Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Pimped Porter, I like it.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up at Clapton Craft. Pours rich brown with a creamy, khaki head. Nicely rounded, not overly sweet, with restrained roast, soft coffee grounds, cocoa, dark fruit accents. Medium bodied, lightly oily, with fine to average carbonation. Lightly sticky finish, more rich but balanced cocoa and roast, some earthy bitterness, more dark fruit accents, nips of coffee. Really drinkable.

Tap at The Rake. Dark black colour, small beige head. Toasted, oaky, ashy aroma, a bit raisins too. Light-bodied. Toasted, oaky and earthy flavour. Some rhumraisins but that flavour could be stronger. Too much earthyness.

Pours very dark brown, small tanned head. Smell is medium intense. Roasty, chocolate. Taste is full, intense, dark chocolate. Bit bitter. Raisins and rum are very hidden. OK. Tad caramelly, chocolate finish.

Keg at Fierce Bar. It pours near black with a small tan head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, toasted dark sugars, brownie, rocky road, berry dark fruits, vanilla and cookie dough. The taste is slick, oily, dry, toasty grain, roasted malt, umami, toasty, cacao nibs, some sweet boozy warmth, brownie, toasted coconut, burnt toast, leather and earth with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation carbonation. Nice bounty bar vibes. Enjoyable stuff.
