Canned i liked this and foundnit in the character of an English stout. Low carbonation, soy sauce, chocolate. Some sweetness. I liked the palate.

Can shared by Tom! Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dark grains and roasted malts with a decent amount of dark fruits underlying. Flavor has sweet dark grains and dark fruits with a touch of earthy roasted malts.

Draught at MW’s 8th anniversary, 10/17/15.
Little-to-no dark beige head atop the dark ebony body. Low clarity.
Vanilla, plentiful sugars and a bit of an oak-infused chocolate character. Was hoping the oak and perhaps the vanilla would help brighten the rather dull, chocolate-heavy nose that is the regular Chaos Chaos. To some extent, the vanilla adds levity, but where I wanted some nice dry, rich, woody oak notes, I get only a bit of dry wood and alcohol.
The flavor seems sweeter, I assume this is the lower carbonation from the aging, and perhaps the oak and vanilla intensifying the flavors? Whatever the case, I thought the vanilla was a bit too prominent (though not obnoxious by any stretch) and could actually use some more oak dryness (though it’s there lightly on the finish). Can’t think of too many stouts where I thought vanilla really improved it; just don’t think vanilla is a great addition and it’s almost always used too liberally, which is probably my main gripe with it. Nonetheless, still drinkable, enjoyable and all, but like the regular version, needs more oomph to the texture. A touch too thin. And texture is a HUGE thing for me when it comes to stouts.

Can thanks to JBPortland Pours opaque black with a super creamy tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves coating lacing on the sides of the glass. Aroma is roasty, cocoa. Flavor is more complex, roasty and chocolate for sure, but vanilla present as well as a bit of ashtray and molasses. Not a lot of oak, other than perhaps some astringency. Light sweet and medium bitter, lingering bitterness. Some burn from the ABV. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. This is a nice one for those who like their impys less sweet and more roasty and bitter.

Can from mixylplik3, thanks for the hookup Matt! Pours totally opaque blackness with a huge tan head that persists forever before impaling itself to the sides of the glass. Vanilla, caramel, milk chocolate, light wood and alcohol, earthy hop, licorice and molasses make up most of the aroma. There’s a lot going on here, but where is the roast? The flavor is caramel and vanilla up front followed by a solid shot of ethanol. Light chocolate comes in next along with light smoke and a burnt licorice kind of flavor. Light earthen woodiness and bits of dark dried fruit comes in before a lingering hop bite and alcohol finish. Thick body with a creamy silky mouthfeel, light to moderate level of carbonation. Big thick dark brew with a lot going on. I think the vanilla addition must really soften the roastiness in this beer because it seems lacking in that area. Big thick flavorful brew I enjoyed it, but would have preferred a softer alcohol bite.

Draft @ When Pigs Fly. Pitch black color thin white head. Aroma is deep roasted malts, burnt sugar, vanilla, and funky wood. Taste is molasses, very sweet chocolate, oak, and a large amount of vanilla or vanilla beans. The only thing that hurt my option of this beer is the body (it’s a tad thin) But the flavor still is really nice. Light traces of the alcohol are noticeable Texture is lightly ashy with some char feeling. I hope I could one day brew a stout as nice as this. It’s heavy on the vanilla and chocolate but I would have NO problem drinking more of this brew! I enjoy MW as a brewery. Looking forward to trying more for these guys.
